Player Information

The Tournament: The Senior Porter Cup is an invitational amateur event conducted at stroke play over 54 holes. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to invite players of national and international reputation to participate. Contestants are selected on the basis of their competitive record and accomplishments in major amateur and senior amateur tournaments. Players must be at least 55 years of age prior to September 6, 2017.

Amateur Status: All players must conform with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as set forth in The Rules of Golf.

Rules of Play: The USGA Rules of Golf, as modified by local rules established by the Senior Porter Cup, will be used. The Tournament Directors reserve the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.

Registration: Players must register on Tuesday, September 5th between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm. The Registration Desk is located in the Garden Room of the Niagara Falls Country Club.

Dress Code: Proper collared shirts are required during all phases of the Tournament. Shorts are permitted. The Niagara Falls Country Club has a no denim policy.

Footwear: It is a condition of the competition that shoes with metal or traditionally designed spikes are prohibited. Penalty for breach of this condition is Disqualification.

Distance Measuring Devices (Rangefinders): Are permitted.

Practice: Niagara Falls Country Club will be available for practice on Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday. Please call the Pro Shop at (716) 285-1331 for a tee time. Wives can play for a special fee of $30.00 plus cart. Range balls are included in the entry fee.

Players Dinner: Players and their wives are invited to the Players Dinner on Wednesday, September 8th at 6:30pm in the Dining Room of the Niagara Falls Country Club. Cocktails by signature. A brief program will follow dinner. Dress is casual.

Cocktail Party: Players and their wives are invited for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on Thursday, September 7th at 6:00pm at the Niagara Falls Country Club, courtesy of our sponsor. Dress is casual.

Close of Competition: The competition is deemed to have closed when the Championship trophy has been presented.

Withdrawal: If an entrant withdraws up to two weeks before the tournament commences, a full refund of their entry fee will be given. A 50% refund will be given if a player withdraws 1-2 weeks before the tournament begins. No refund will be given on a player’s withdrawal less than a week prior to the tournament.
